P2P File Sharing is defined as a
Peer to Peer distribution. An individual share and distribute files with one
another individual. This is a very common practice, however with many consequences.
Many of these P2P applications are illegal due to not legally obtaining the
license/right to distribute the content. The New York Times article “Digital
Pirates Winning Battle With Studios” highlights why this P2P sharing may be
illegal. The companies who have those digital files uploaded charge a price.
When one shares those content they are stealing the product those digital websites
have put up. But since the file is distributed so many people it is hard to
track where the file is going. I am actually a supporter of P2P sharing.
Now I am no expert in New Media. I am just here to spill some tea and opinions. The hotter the better.
